Dearest Mrs. Joanne & Mr. Harvey Caras,
There are not enough words to describe the wonder of your amazing initiative to commemorate the memory of the holy departed ones – a unique effort that has not existed until today.
There are not enough words to thank you for this tremendous assistance that you have given Carmei Ha’ir through this project.
At this time, as we approach Pesach, when all the Jewish people are all commanded to ‘let all who hunger come and eat; let all who are in need come and partake,’ I wish to bless you and your family that this memorial project should be publicized throughout the world and be a memorial beacon in memory of these holy departed ones.
This important contribution to Carme Ha’ir, especially in these difficult financial times, when we are struggling to feed and clothe another elderly Jew who has no one to feed himself and has no wearable garment, is indeed the most wonderful contribution that will certainly be a blessing for you, your husband and all your wonderful family. The smiles of these people who benefit from this gift and the joy that it brings to their homes are the finest reward for your endeavor.
Recently, Carmei Ha’ir has completed its winter project of distributing blankets and heaters to families and elderly people who were living in cold homes without the proper covers for their bodies.
And now, due to your efforts, we can continue distributing winter clothes, sweaters, shoes and children’s winter coats.
With warmest blessings for a Happy Pesach to you and your entire family,
Your friend and admirer, Yehuda
My sister and I attended last evening presentation given by you. It was quite impressive and touching. Thank you for your concern and compassion.
We are Israelis brought up in Haifa, My sister is in the USA most of her life while I came with my American husband 28 year ago (too many) I visit home almost every year and all my friends whether from school, university, or army (those who are alive) keep in touch.
I was not aware that there is hunger back home, yes I knew that it exists in the religious society because the husbands are learning and the wives have to manage.
Anyhow – good luck with your lovely and unique book and I appreciate the fact that the profits are for good charity.
Dear Joanne and Harvey,
I want to again say thank you for such a fine program about the good works that the cookbook sales make possible. I love the triple mitzvah!!! You made a wonderful event even better. My best wishes for your continued success with this project of your heart. It was my pleasure to be a small part of it. Travel safely on your journey of Tikum Olam.
Warm regards,
Coni

Dear Joanne,
Just a little note to thank you for your wonderful presentation here in New London, last week. You have a special ability to inspire others with your energy and passion. How wonderful to share mitzvos with so many other people! May your partners in mitzvahs continue to grow.
I was eager to try one of the recipes, so last week in honor of the Shabbos Kiddush, I made the Apple Cake on p. 239. Everyone loved it, and every bit was eaten up!
Wishing you much success in your worthy endeavors,
Maryashi Sternberg
